Responsibilities:
- Promote safety, dignity, and quality of life for every resident
- Respond to changes in resident condition and advocate for their needs
- Coordinate with CNAs, LPNs, RNs, physicians, therapy staff, and families
- Administer medications and treatments with accuracy and professionalism
- Provide high-quality, person-centered care to residents in a homelike environment
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
- Chart nurse’s notes in an informative descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident's response to the care.
- The ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours.
- Maintain a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the residents’ needs.
- Answer telephone and call lights when needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN License in Iowa
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification (CPR certification offered bi-annually)
- Positive attitude, empathy, and the ability to lead by example
- Strong assessment and time-management skills
- Genuine passion for working with older adults
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
