**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The LPN will provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing wound care, and assisting with daily living activities.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, reporting any changes to the RN or physician.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans under the direction of an RN.
- Conduct routine clinical tasks, such as collecting samples for laboratory tests and performing basic diagnostic procedures.
- Educate patients and their families about health management and post-treatment care.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of patients by providing emotional support and answering any questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations and company policies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and progress.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Stay current with nursing practices and continue professional development through ongoing education and training.
Qualifications:
- Valid and unrestricted LPN license in Iowa.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred, but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others.
*Working Conditions:
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the facility's needs.
